GC Partnership was originally commissioned to carry out an environmental and hydrological survey of the park lake as it suffered badly from lack of maintenance and water loss. GCP’s conclusions and recommendations called for significant improvements and restoration including the installation of a bentonite liner, the reconstruction of the revetments, the design and installation of rustic timber bridges, the installation of aeration and re-circulation systems and the reinstatement of drainage throughout the park to provide replenishment.

In addition GCP advised the removal of 3000 tonnes of silt and assisted in Sheffield City Council obtaining a Waste Exemption Licence from the Environment Agency for the removal and re-cycling of the silt for soil improvement projects throughout the City. GCP also supervised the construction works.
