The project relates to a design for a multi-purpose building containing a church, community centre, crèche, youth centre and associated administration offices on a restricted city centre site. The project brief was to provide a facility which could accommodate the charity's diverse activities in a single location.

 

The design focused on creating a unity between the elements of accommodation notwithstanding disparate uses and differing periods of occupation. A blend of design themes containing both ecclesiastical and modern commercial design was required to avoiding alienating any particular user.
