Traffic and transportation are of overriding importance when considering the viability of any development. Our traffic and transportation engineers work closely with clients to produce pragmatic and sustainable solutions across the whole sphere of hard, soft and public transport provision.

Thames gateway

GCP have produced traffic and transport assessments for a number of projects in the Thames Gateway region representing over 700 hectares of urban and brown land regeneration. All of these assessments required the full range of traffic and transport modelling software including SATURN, EMME2, TRIPS together with junction design software including ARCADY, PICARDY and TRANSYT.

green transport plans

GCP have advised a number of clients on the greater use of soft transport and the compilation of green transport plans. The number of car journeys can often be substantially reduced by the analysis of the local transport network and the encouragement of car sharing and cycle use.

section 278 and 106 contribution

GCP are well versed in advising clients on the appropriate level of developer contributions for highway and public transport improvements.
