infrastructure

Infrastructure design is another of GC Partnership's core disciplines and combines a range of skills to facilitate development and regeneration. GC Partnership's infrastructure team have in depth expertise in the design of highways, drainage and public utilities. They have formed strong working relationships with highway and drainage authorities and public utility providers and work in conjunction with these bodies to develop phased and co-ordinated solutions. The team also advises on section 278/38 highway adoption and section 104 drainage adoption negotiations.

new communities

GC Partnership is currently advising on the development of 500 hectares of various MOD sites which will ultimately provide in excess of 9500 new homes and 150,000 square metres of mixed commercial, retail and leisure employment use. Infrastructure provision on this scale is significant and gcpartnership'2 team are currently developing strategic studies upon which the detailed designs will be based.

regeneration

GC Partnership's infrastructure team have undertaken a significant number of regeneration projects throughout the UK and are actively involved in the Thames Gateway initiative. The largest of these is a 160 hectare regeneration scheme in North Kent including 2000 new homes and 180,000 square metres of industrial, commercial, leisure and retail employment use including a 250 berth marina. GC Partnership are acting as infrastructure master planners and have compiled and submitted a Community Infrastructure Fund bid to the ODPM for £21m to fund a 1.5km relief road to open up the site.

industrial development

GC Partnership are advising on a 100 hectare site zoned for industrial development. The original commission was to develop the master plan for heavy industrial use involving major utility provision. The commission was then expanded to advise the client on the impact of a proposed gas-fired power station on the site. This involved negotiations on third part contributions for infrastructure provision.
