former fertiliser works

This eight hectare site has a contamination history of over 100 years as a result of chemical fertiliser works. Following studies and intrusive investigations, GC Partnership has developed a remediation strategy to enable the site to be developed for residential use, much of it with waterside frontage.

use of dredged materials

GC Partnership's geo-environmental team developed a proposal for the ripening of 5000 cubic metres of silt dredged from a dock basin. The success of the method enabled the material to be used as structural fill to make up levels beneath a car park thus realising a significant saving for the client and reducing off site lorry movements by up to 1000.

ground improvement

GC Partnership were commissioned to develop a ground improvement design for a major junction upgrade on the A27 trunk road. The site was a former refuse tip and had suffered severe settlement problems. GC Partnership's solution was to use a combination of piled load transfer platforms and dynamic compaction to stabilise the ground prior to junction construction.

Field land assembly trust (blat)

GC Partnership have advised on a number of sites throughout the South East of England. The BLAT initiative forms part of the ODPM's drive to develop brown field sites for residential development. A series of phase 1 and 2 site investigations have been carried out in conjunction with the Housing Association in order to tailor the remediation strategy to the development proposals.

pre-acquisition environmental audits

GC Partnership's environmental team have carried out several pre-acquisition environmental audits throughout the UK. The audits cover the full spectrum of environmental issues and form the first stage for potential environmental scoping studies and impact assessments.
