Full architectural and structural design supported with comprehensive pressure controlled HVAC, along with mechanical and electrical services, including pharmaceutical grade compressed air, bottled gases water services, drainage, power, data, lighting, smoke and fire detection and audio systems (PA). The project was essentially a complete refit and upgrade of an existing single storey facility to create capability for the assembly of pre-filled inhalable drug product in devices. The new facility was designed to be operated as a validated cGMP Classified Area to Grade D within clean rooms together with supporting areas for operators including change rooms, offices, welfare, QA Laboratory and training rooms. A new mezzanine platform was designed to integrate within the existing roof space and provide maintenance access for all of the requisite utilities (HVAC, M&E and PG Compressed Air). An existing external recirculatory Air Handling Unit was reconfigured to provide the necessary supply air for the facility and new extract fans supplied to exhaust air where this was required. A new external plant room was provided to accommodate new heating and pressurised hot and cold water services. |
