The Old Royal Naval College is located in the centre of the Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site directly adjacent to the River Thames and within a flood zone. The ORNC Trust won £2.5m funding from the Heritage Lottery fund for landscape works including footways/cycleways, car parking and flood defence along the 1km frontage.  

GCP were commissioned to provide the detailed design for all engineering aspects of the proposals including the riverside footway/cycleway which forms part of National Cycle Route No1. The design was carried out in association with Environment Agency as enhance flood defences were integrated into the design.
