Network Rail carried out a series of enhancements to London Euston to prepare the station for a projected 35% increase in passenger numbers. The principal improvement was the installation of 2 lifts and a public staircase to connect the LUL and main station concourse.

Our group division GES were commissioned to carry out an intrusive survey in order to establish the thickness and construction of the basement walls and slabs and the geotechnical properties of the adjacent London Clays.

Hollow diamond drilling techniques were employed to drill through up 1.5m of reinforced concrete, sheet piling and clay to withdraw core samples up to 15m long for inspection and laboratory testing.
